I got a Kameleon (RS 15-2133) remote, liked it a lot, but took it back when it drained a new set of alk. batteries in 29 days (with modest use). Anybody else notice the giant sucking sound with this unit, or was mine defective? It did seem very bright, even on the dimmest setting.

Simple solution: get two sets of NiMH batteries for it. Keep one charged while the other is in use. When your remote drains one set dry, switch sets and recharge the drained set.

A set of rechargeables only solves part of the problem. You still have the hassle of frequent changes, and I suspect from the design of the battery door that it will break after awhile and you will have a $60 paperweight.
