I have read many web pages concerning this item. I need it for the advance codes for my MX-500. Does anyone know where to obtain this remote?

If this item is no longer available, is there another remote that I can use for this task?

Thank you

Have you read pages that tell you the setup code(s) for the device(s) for which you need advanced codes?

A Cinema 7 might be a URC7200 or a URC7800. Those have a slightly different set of setup codes built in. The 7800 also has learning (which you wouldn't care about if it's just for programming the MX-500). The 7800 is much easier than the 7200 to adapt for use with a JP1 cable if the advanced codes you want can't be gotten without a JP1 cable.

The 15-2104 may be a good alternative if you find it sale priced as Radio Shack (which it has been a lot lately, probably in the process of discontinuing it).

If you don't need a JP1 cable, the "One for all" model 6012w is at most Walmarts at a good price. If you might need JP1 the 8810 or 8811 is at a few Walmart stores and available from several internet stores.

For any of those choices, if you tell us a UEI setup code or the URL of a Pronto CCF file or something else that identifies the exact codes you need, we can tell you whether a given model of UEI remote can do those advanced codes without a JP1 cable. (With a JP1 cable they all can. A 15-2104 or 8810/8811 can take a JP1 cable without modification; URC7800 with modification; URC7200 or 6012 with very difficult modification.
