I have an Aiwa AV-X220 Receiver and a Cinema 7 remote control and no matter what code I enter it is never the right one. I lost my control to the receiver so i can't program it that way. Can anyone help.

I tried that but it didn't work. My receiver manual says to enter the code 406, but since the cinema 7 uses four digit codes i tried 0406 but the control didn't recognize that code and never accepted it. Thanks.

Make sure your Cinema7 is the learning one (model 7800). If it isn't, then it probably won't have the device code 0406 in it.
Make sure the RCVR device hasn't been changed to some other type. Press and hold SETUP (until two blinks) then 992 followed by RCVR then RCVR again.
Press RCVR. Press and hold SETUP until you get two blinks. Enter 0406.
You should at least get two blinks. If you don't, then the code isn't in there. You'll need to learn functions if you can, or get another remote. If it takes the code, and still doesn't work, then it's likely that Aiwa just changed their IR or you have an older unsupported model. Either way, your Cinema isn't going to run it.
It's the main falicy of universal remotes.. They aren't.

I think I remember my manual for the Cinema 7 either listed 405 or 406 or something. I coudln't get my Aiwa AV-DV75 receiver to work with it. It turns out that the code for me was one more than what was in the manual.
Try codes of 0405, 0407, maybe one of those will work.
