OFA does not reply to email. I'm still trying to find a code for Cyber Home DVD. I don't know anything about the cable for the remote. Mine did not come with one. I spend too much time with computers and don't really have the time to become a techie with remotes. Can I solve my problem without living here? I just wanted a remote control, not a self sacrifice.

The JP1 cable does not normally come with the remote. In the Yahoo JP1 group, there is a list of places you can order the cable from.
You didn't say which model remote you have. If you have a modem upgradeable model you can use some of the JP1 group's resources by WAV file and avoid buying the cable.
In the Yahoo JP1 group, there is an upgrade file for a Cyber Home 500 DVD. If that is a compatible model, most of the work is done for you.
You don't need to become a remote techie, nor "live here" to add an upgrade to a remote.

There are some mentions in the JP1 group that the setup code DVD/0714 is the Cyber Home DVD. So far as I can tell, DVD/0714 isn't built in on any OFA or RS remote. Maybe the mention of DVD/0714 is an error. Or maybe DVD/0714 is one of the WAV files you can download from the European OFA support site.
