The advanced codes for Toshiba VCR's seem to have every kind of function except discreet on and off. There's a toggle power but not discreets. Anyone know of one?

I have the same problem with a Sharp VCR...sorry I can't help.

Many times "play,stop" will work for "discrete ON". "Play,stop(not always needed),power" will usually make sure it's off no matter what state it was in.
Just a "workaround" if your device doesn't support discretes. will also work for some other devices like dvd, cd, etc.in addition to many vcrs.
