I was setting up a OFA URC-6012 and discovered there weren't CD device codes in it. Is there a code for another device (TV, VCR, etc.) that uses the same signal as CD/0000?

Or does anyone have any other idea how to control a Sony CD player with this remote? The battery compartment is marked for JP1 but there are no pins or solder pads.

Thanks,

Bob

The 6012 lumps CD's together with the various audio devices (Tuner, Amp, etc.). I don't have the remote or a picture handy to see what the device button is labeled, but it should be obvious.

It does include the 0000 setup code (Sony device numbers 12 and 17) within that set of Audio codes.

To add jp1 to a 6012, you need to solder on an eeprom, a jumper, and the JP1 connector.

All the pre programmed keys within CD/0000 are for Sony device 17. Sony device 12 within that setup code, can be used by EFC. You might want to look at the command codes for Sony Device 17 here (to see if you want any of the functions that aren't built in)

You might want to look at the Sony device 12 codes (receiver codes) here

Thank you, John! Sorry I didn't post my Receiver Code but didn't know CD 0000 could be within it. It's 0158 plus I must add Miscellaneous Audio codes 0159 and 0010.

I hope 0158 will work but I guess 1058, 1158 or 1258 could be used (0158 seems to work best on my old Sony STR-D911).

I'm hoping I can find the device 12 and 17 codes as you suggest but haven't found them yet. I'm afraid modifying the URC-6012 for JP1 would be a little beyond of my soldering skills.

Thanks,

Bob

I think you misunderstood. CD/0000 is not part ofsome other Receiver code. It is stored in the 6012 as a Receiver code itself, as if it were setup code RCVR/0000.

The documentation tells you how to set some other device key to the device type RCVR (I think that's the 992 command) and then you can set the setup code of that key to 0000 and it will then be CD/0000.
