Can anyone tell me how long the batteries are typically lasting in the Kameleon (RS15-2133)?

I'm trying to find one and a RS about 40 minutes from me has an open box w/o the manual. Unfortunately, he wouldn't sell it for less that the retail price (is that typically RS's policy?). Anyway, he told me on the phone the drawback was the auto-on was very sensitive and would require batteries every 4 or 5 days!!!!

I really don't believe that, but I thought I'd go to the experts.

Thanks for your help.
Travis

I've had my 15-2133 for about 6 weeks. The first set of batteries only lasted about a week. I've been on the second set now for about 5 weeks.

There have been other threads on this topic that you might want to research as well.

Almost a month here and they're still fine. And I'm just using normal Duracell Coppertops. I imagine whenever I have to replace them I'll use the Duracell Ultras.

In the UK they come with one set of batterys in place plus a spare set in the box. Mine was sitting in a courier van for 8 hours befor it was delivered, and given how sensitive it is i imagine that it was on for the whole journey! I don't know where these things are boxed, but they are made in China so if the batterys have been in since then, i would imagine it has been on for the whole journey. The manual says battery life is 3-12 months. But i dont expect the first set to last long.
