hi all,

just got my kamelon yesterday and although have got most of the basics working well there's still some tweaking to be done. i have a denon cd player with integrated amp/tuner, the UD-M3. the 0003 cd player code allows me to control the transport functions, but not the volume. i programmed the amp button using the 1104 code, which works the whole device but leaves me with surround sound keys which i'm not going to use. i managed to punch-through so cd volume keys would operate the amp volume, but this then meant that i was unable to also have my satellite and video functions operate tv audio, which is what i want. is there any way of having two separate punch-throughs operational at the same time? (i.e. sat and video operate tv volume at the same time as cd operates aud volume?) if not, does anyone have a denon combo code which might allow my cd function to operate the volume controls without using punch-through? the original integrated cd/amp/tuner remote is an RC-846. any help much appreciated!

You can use key moves (the 994 command) to override punch through for specific devices. There are also some complex built in rules, which I don't remember for when punch through disables itself, so you may need to experiment.

I think you can set punch through for TV, and it will work for the sat and vcr, and will automatically be disabled for the aud. That leaves only CDto be fixed.

You can then do two (or three if including MUTE) key moves to make the CD use the AUD vol control:

Long-Press-of-P 9 9 4 AUD Vol+ CD Vol+
etc.

thanks very much for the useful reply, can't wait to get home to try it! i couldn't find anything about this key moves function in the uk manual, is it documented anywhere? does it basically allow you to swap functions from one mode to another?

It associates a setup code and command with a device and key. It can go across devices or within a device. In my example, it takes the setup code from the AUD device and takes the command from the Vol+ key within that setup code and associates those with the Vol+ key within the CD device.

I didn't know you meant the UK version. It works the same, but I think the special key for defining things is labeled "Magic" on the UK version and "P" on the US version.

Many features of these remotes are the same across most models and are badly documented or completely undocumented for each model. The best available documentation is in Rob's improved version of the 15-1994 manual at
