Got a Kameleon from Radio Shack about 2 weeks ago and already the thing is acting up. Everything has worked perfect thus far... until last night and continuing today. When using the VCR function to control my replay tv, whenever I hit the arrow buttons or the select button now, the ENTIRE REMOTE (every key) lights up for a few seconds and then the remote jumps over to the TV function. If I try to go back to VCR and hit exit or any of the keys below the "guide" button, same thing. It did that for the first time last night and I let it sit overnight. Started working fine today, then it was acting up again this afternoon. Called the 800 # and she told me that this definitely was not normal and to exchange the remot. In addition for anyone who cares, she says she's taken tons of calls regarding Tivo and Replay TV users having to switch back and forth between two screens using the screen button so that you can control the guide functions. Currently there is no workaround and she thinks it might be fixed in the next iteration of the remote.

You're describing the symptoms of a power supply glitch; But it's not so easy to tell whether the remote or the batteries are at fault. EITHER way, if you get a good matched set of new batteries the problem will go away.

If the batteries were at fault the problem won't come back, you'll get decent battery life from the new set, and when they finally run low you'll get a more normal indication of low battery.

If the remote is at fault, good new batteries will only fix it for a short time. It will happen again and before the new batteries are down to a charge that would normally be considered low.

If the remote IS at fault, you still may want to keep it and use rechargeable batteries to make it immune to he symptoms.

BTW, the usual way to get this symptom is starting with mismatched batteries (some new, some old, or different types, used together in a device that should have matched batteries).
