I just bought one of these great remotes, but ran into a wall with the limited EEPROM memory. I need at least another K or two to get all of my desired functions learned, and since that's not possible, I guess I need to optimize how I've got the remote programmed.

* Does anyone have codes for the Cyberhome CH-500 DVD player?

* I've used the Sony code for my STR-DE485 receiver from the manual, but that doesn't activate much more than the power and volume functions. How do I get my 2116 to control all of the STR-DE485 functions, short of using the 2116's Learning mode? Why doesn't the Sony code control the more unique STR-DE485 functions?

I've used the Learning memory to program the less common functions of these two devices, and of course I filled the memory before I was done. What are my options?

Thanks!

All of this is easier and more flexible if you use a JP1 cable.

If you don't use a JP1 cable, you still may be able to use key moves rather than learned signals for some of your receiver functions. Key moves use a different section of the eeprom and are stored much more effitiently than learned signals.

If your Sony receiver happens to use Sony device number 16 (UEI setup code 1058 uses Sony device number 16) you may be able to use TAPE/0243 for key moves as explained in this thread

Even if you're not using setup code 1058, you should consult RHM's pages (mentioned in that thread) for more information about the signals your receiver may need.

You need to change the code your receiver responds to, its using a new code set(AV2), you need to change it to AV1. AV1 is the old code set,and the only one you will find in a universal remote.

I'm not sure that you can change the oem remote along with the receiver, but give it a try;
