When i create a macro, and map it to the M1 button, with the following commands:

Change to Reciever
Power Button to reciever
Input 1 (Cable TV)
Change to TV
Power Button to TV
Select Video 3
Change to Digital Cable Box
Power to Digital Cable Box

This sequence works great when i power up from a completely turned off system.

If everything is on and I try to reverse everything by pressing the macro button again. The Sony Reciever powers off, and then back on in the cycle. Therefore all equipment is off except the reciever which went off and back onn again.

Anyone having trouble like this? Anyhone know what could be causing it? Reciever is Sony STR-DE685 on AV1 to be compatable with all in one remotes.

I had a similar problem some time ago with another remote and the Sony 925...It seems that anytime you tell the macro to select any "input" on the receiver, the receiver reads that as a need to turn on again.

You're going to have to do like I did with my Kameleon and Pioneer 811...M1 is strictly "POWER" on (off) to all components. Then I told M2 to switch receiver to my VCR so I can watch locals..then M3 I tell it to switch receiver to Directv, and finally M4 I tell receiver to switch to DVD..It covers all the bases for me and I just use M1 for powering on and off...very easy and my wife agrees..:)
