Just picked up this remote and found the code for my Philips Tivo. However, I use the guide function alot on my Tivo but with the Kameleon when the guide button is used the channel selectors disappear. This makes scrolling through the guide painfully slow - in order to scroll by a full screen you then have to change screens to get the channel keys back.

Is there a way to keep the guide button on with the channel selectors?

Thanks

You could try using advanced codes, either adding the guide command to the screen with the channel keys or ch commands to the screen with the guide button. Or both. ch+ 246,ch- 506,guide 377.

Yea, I thought about this but it is still inadequate. One really needs both screens simultaneously to avoid excessive key pushes with the Tivo.

I don't like touchscreen remotes, and I felt the Kameleon felt cheap, so I passed on it. Comeback to the all button remotes.:)

I have come to the same conclusion. Back to RS it goes and I'll pull the 1994 out of the closet.

Not that I'm disagreeing with you but, isn't the whole point of having a Tivo not to watch live TV anymore? You wouldn't need the guide then.

I'll admit, I do watch some live TV. But not very often anymore.

Agreed. About 50% of my TV viewing is live and so I do use the guide a fair amount.

I am having this same problem. I am annoyed that they divided it into 2 'screens' and you have to hit the screen button when there really seems to be enough space without the screen button. They just need to have the arrow key area available on the first screen. Other than this one problem (and the buzzing noise) the remote is fantastic, durable, easily cleaned (I have a 16 month old girl who is facsinated with remotes so this is important) and simple to use.

I am sure someone has found a good solution, if so please post it!!

I frequently use the Guide to browse a channel's programs for the coming weeks.

I just found a way to set this up so that you can get virtually everything on one screen.

I am a newbee to ReplayTV and the Kameleon remote (love them both so far). Is there a procedure for the Radio Shack version of the Kameleon? I don't think it has Magic keys or Rabbits! Why the Thompson VCR? I'm totally lost!!

The "magic" key is the "P" key in the Radio Shack models.

I believe the rabbit corresponds to some less cute animation in the RS (I've never seen it, but I assume you have).

The basic ideas are all the same: Select a device type that is wrong for the device you want to control but has the right set of keys lit. Do lots of Key Moves to make that device send the right signals.

That fills up your key move memory pretty quickly and it's a lot of tedious keying to set it up. I can't understand why you'd want to do that when you can do so much better and easier with a JP1 cable (you still can't directly control which keys are lit, but you sure can do better than the above approach).

Someone just posted to my thread on the Tivo forum, saying that OFA CS have a sat code 1900 that works great for my Tivo with no mucking around swopping keys around.

I just got it from OFA CS in the UK, works great. They say it's in test at the moment.

regards,

Greg

I just got off the phone with CSR in US and she did not know of a 1900 code.Bummer I was hoping it would not control my Sony HD100 and would control my Sony Tivo. Is the 1900 code for the UK only?
