I have a RXV-1300 and have been trying to figure out the volume issue with different inputs.

After reading this post I understand it's possible to do what I want but I don't know how!

I have a OFA-8811 to teach my MX-700 if needed but I haven't used the OFA yet.

How do I get the extended codes into the OFA and then the MX? I have read the JP1 site on Yahoo and I still don't understand.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Don

If you don't want to limit yourself to getting help only from people who know about the RXV-1300, you need to provide more information. I have no clue what a RXV-1300 is.

The best information might be the OFA setup code for the device. If you have an orriginal remote for the RXV-1300 and you have a JP1 cable, then you could learn a few signals from the orriginal remote, download to IR.EXE and see the signals decoded. If you found a device upgrade file for it in the JP1 group's folder of device upgrades that would be much better than the other alternatives (I didn't look since that folder is organised by device type and named mainly by manufacturer and you didn't mention either). Another alternative (implied by your post's title, but not clarified in the post itself) is that you post the URL of a CCF file that includes the signals you want.

Once you know the OFA setup code and the advanced codes, you can use the 8811 to teach the signals to the MX-700. For some setup codes, that process is simple. For other setup codes it can be done by a more difficult method. For other setup codes, you can't get advanced codes at all without JP1.

With a JP1 cable, you don't need to find a setup code (you can make a setup code) and you can access the advanced codes for any protocol easily.

So with any of the information I listed above, we can tell you how to do it and whether a JP1 cable is required or merely convenient.

The RVX-1300 is a Yamaha A/V receiver, it probably uses the Audio/0176 setup code, which is NEC1 device code 122, however there are several functions that also probably come from NEC1 codes 124 and 126. There isn't a match for the 126 code in most OFA remotes, so you would need JP1 for those functions.

Thanks to all for the information. I am getting a ccf file from the Pronto board with all of the codes for the Yamaha.

I have the JP1 cable. Once I get the codes I will post and then wait for futher assistance.

Thanks again,
Don
