On the RS 15-2116 press and hold the (P) button to start the LCD menu, then make sure that the very first button that you press is the RECORD button, then press SELECT, then press SELECT again. This will do a full "MFG Reset".

Good one! I thought I was in a jam when I was getting BAD E2 error messages and MEM FAULT on my 2116. Like my RCU810, the 2116 does not upload or download correctly with batteries installed using the simple interface. I was able to get the remote to work again by removing the batteries, holding a key pressed, replacing the batteries and then doing the OPS RESET.

I'll have to write down this MFG RESET trick.
