yeah, and we (US) got a "P" button instead of
the silly rabbit/Hat deal. How big is the eeprom
on yours? We got 2K.

I don't know the size of my EEPROM. How can I find out? Is this documented somewhere? I doubt it...
I actually like that rabbit/hat idea :-). Is your "P" button "animated" as well, so do you know when you are in "P"/Magic-mode?

Stefan.

downloading in IR3.10x, IR auto-defines the eeprom size. Otherwise, take the remote apart and read the part designation on the chip. It won't say "2K eeprom", it'll list it like other chips such as LM339, etc. If you don't want to correlate that designation, just post what's on it, and somebody will do it.
The "P"has animated "circles". Alice-in-wonderland generation? Good grief, seeing that makes the Jefferson Airplane song run through my head.:)

A 2k chip will be labelled "24C16" and a 4k chip will be labelled "24C32" (the letter in the middle may vary, but it's only the last 2 digits that are really relevant here)

FWIW I exchanged this for the Universal MX-500 which has turned out to be AMAZING if anyone else needs to use it for a system with ReplayTV or TiVO.

While the 'English' PDF manual for the "One-For-All Kameleon" outlines how a user can set up "Shifted" key commands...

Has anybody here been able to do this with the Radio Shack 15-2133 version of this remote?
{Like being able to add a seventh device (or more) using a shifted device key? Or being able to have a shifted learned "M#" key)

Also has anybody been able to get the brightness control to work on the 15-2133?

Many of the Code's listed in the manuals are the same between the two remotes.

Other than the difference in the text/image labeling and the loss of the colored icons I can not tell any difference between the two remotes by looking over the manuals.

Quick Review:
Pros - Light weight, easy to read in the dark/low light, easy to program, easy to tell which device the remote is trying to control, cool AWAaa.. factor.
Cons - Hard to read in Bright sunlight, limited number of device/programmable keys.

Can it control any Bang & Olufsen systems or learn B&O codes? I have a B&O Beosystem 6500 receiver, but everything else in my av room is non-B&O.

Thanks.

This remote is very cheap...dropped mine on accident it hit the corner of the cofee table and gouged the touch pad bad enough I sent mine back...I had it about 6 days...cheapness was just the last straw...the backlighting being too sensitive and the humming was too much for me.

First set of batteries lasted one week...bought NiMH and they depleted fast also. Not a remote if you have kids bouncing around, the remote never shuts off. One night I sat there with no noise and watched the remote on the coffee table and the backlighting kept going on and off with no reason....WAY TOO SENSITIVE. I think it may have been the ceiling fan triggering it.
