Sue and Tom ([email protected]) have tried diligently to get this device to work with their Cinema 6 and Cinema 7 remotes. Here's the result:

The receiver does not respond to the odd numbers and it does not respond to the odd number codes listed in [Link: starbase314.com].

I searched for advanced codes between 000 and 255 and came up with the following results:

KEY Base EFC EFC
2 163 675
4 115 627
6 131 387
8 211 723

Other codes I found

099 = power on/off
179 = info
226 = menu

I could not find any code (at least between 255 and 033) that operated any odd number, or the channel up function. I also could not find the "back" function that toggles between the previously selected channel and the current one. I guess the only alternative is to have these functions learned.

I found a code that locked up the satellite receiver: 013. It does not toggle; once that code is entered, the receiver will not turn off (although the indicator light on the receiver goes out, indicating that the unit is off). I had to unplug the unit momentarily to bring it back to the point where it will respond again.

If anyone has this receiver and has figured out how or why these other keys seem to be missing. let me know. The above text has been added to the FAQ.

Here is an update to this problem:

No, and it's not just the 2122. My 222 exhibits the same problem, no odd numbers or up arrow.

I bought an RCA 420 receiver yesterday, and I have the same problem with it. The problem is the OFA remote. I can run the 420 with an old Sony 6-in-1 remote, and I can run the 420 with old DSS remotes I have laying around.

My OFA remote runs my DTC100 just fine, and the DTC100's original remote runs the 420 just fine. The 420's remote runs the DTC100 as well. It appears that the odd numbers, the up arrow, and a few others are not sent quite long enough, or something to that effect, from the OFA remote. The tolerance on the 420/222 must be a little tighter. The actual IR codes are the same as far as I can tell though.

Weird..."
