I have a Marantz SR-5000 Digital rec. which code 0269 works for. There seems to not be input selects available for the 0269 code. I therefore "learned" the code from my Marantz remote to button 2L under AMP on my Home Producer 8 w/learning. It works fine there. I want to set up two macros to get my wife off my back about how complicated it is to use 1 remote versus the 4 I have nowl. Go figure??? Anyways, Here's the sequence I used.

Amp on
Tv on
VCR on
Amp 2L

I put the input select last to be sure the amp has sufficient time to power up. I've also put after the "TV on" to be sure there wasn't a problem eit being the last command. I hope OFA wasn't so stupid to give you learning keys and not let you use them in a macro. If you have to "learn" a key, it's probably going to get used!

You would think that the latest model should be able to do at LEAST as much as it predecesesor and definately more when it costs 2-3 times as much.

Any info is appreciated.

This confused the heck out of me when I got the 8800. Why would you not be able to use a learned key in the macro sequence. I tried every way I knew how, but it wouldn't work. I emailed OFA and finally got a response back about 2 weeks later. Sure enough they said learning buttons can't be used in a macro. What I did was put VCR input on 1L and DVD input on 2L, set the 1st macro up to TV POWER,TV/SAT,VCR POWER,TUNER POWER. Now when my wife wants to watch a VHS tape she hits MACRO and then 1L. I set MACRO2 up the same way but for DVD. So to watch a DVD she hits MACRO2 then 2L. It's one extra button push but she got it pretty quickly. They just didn't think this one through enough before putting it on the market. I had problems with my first one and had to take it back. This one's been ok so far, but they could have done better for $80.00.
