I have a macro button to turn on this receiver, the TV and the DVD player, but with this receiver, the function button scrolls through the available options (tuner, dvd, vcr, etc) and the receiver comes up at whatever I turned it of as. If I was listening to FM, it comes back on at FM and requires an additional step to turn back to DVD. Does anyone know of a workaround for this? I'd like the macro to include switching to DVD.

Thanks
Jerry

I have the same problem. I programmed my macro button to turn the reciever to the "TV" input, which it will do by pushing button "8" on the keypad. I have not found a direct way to access the "DVD" input however. Perhaps there is an EFC to do it, but I don't know it if there is one. My workaround is to program one macro that turns on the reciever to "TV" and turns my TV on. The second macro then switches my TV to S-video for the DVD. then switches the reciever to the DVD input by sending the "TV/VIDEO" button on the remote that controls the input on the reciever. The command must be pushed 6 or 7 times if memory serves. It then turns on the DVD player and presses play. This second macro barely makes it in under the 15 keystroke limit.

Hope this helps. If anyone comes up with the EFC for the DVD input it would be appreciated.

What device code are you guys using for your Pioneer receivers? I have an older Optimus receiver that was made by Pioneer for Radio Shack, and it uses Pioneer device codes. If you happen to be using the same code, I'm willing to run my 000 to 255 test to see if there are any advanced function codes in there we all can use.

Let me know.

I am using 1025 for the D608. Most functions seem to work OK ( a few had to be learned, I just can't find an advanced code for the input (function) controls.

I use device code 1023 with my Optimus(pioneer). what follows are the advanced codes that directly select each input mode....

029 tuner
141 VCR
143 LD
159 phono (yes, it's an old receiver)
163 CD

By the way, the remote aleady has these functions programmed to the number keys. Have you tried the number keys for selecting inputs directly?

I realize we're not using the same device code, but on my SONY equipment ONEforALL seems to have kept similar advanced functions assigned to the same numbers in different devices. Who know, they may have done the same amony the Pioneer codes.

Good luck,

Dave

Well, I finally got my answers. The D608 codes for direct input control are:

0013 - amplifier

the codes for direct access to the different modes (VCR/DVD/TV etc) are:
308-TV
548-CD
192-DVD
426-Tuner
630-Video
314-VCR
566-VCR2
248-Tape2 monitor

677-Surround mode

I just tested tham and they work great. Someone with a C6 gave these to me. I guess the codes are the same after all...

Good luck all

Jerry
