I have a friend that is over 80 years old. He just got a VCR (yes, it's his first). He's really confused operating three different remotes for his TV, cable box and VCR.

I know One For All has a simple 3 device remote. However, I cannot find any place that sells that model. Does anyone have any experience with it? Can I punch through the volume to his TV?

I noticed that Best Buys had most all of the One-for-All remotes in stock the other day. I think I saw a 3 device unit among them. The devise code for your friend's TV should allow the volume control but I doubt if you can punch through the TV volume to the VCR. He'd have to change devises to use the volume control. This was a very basic remote.

One for All used to market a three device unit with large buttons specifically targeted at this application. You may still be able to order one directly from them at www.oneforall.com. The model number was URC 3300 as I recall.

Mr. Barham,

Probably true, but don't discount the possibility
that, like all the other OFA remotes, it may be
riddled with undocumented features.

That's why I said I *doubt* that it would do that. Also, the post implies that this individual would not use undocumented features if they were available.

Respectfully, Dan

I think the Radio Shack 15-1990 is the same thing.

It's a kind of a moot point now since I dug up this old piece of crap Gemini (aka Zenith) remote I can give him for free...
