RC for autoreverse tape decks?

Hi,

I have a Pioneer tape with autoreverse, where two keys for starting playback are needed, one for forward and one for backwards.
I've never seen a remote control with keys like
"<< < STOP > >>", there are always playback keys for one direction. Even Pioneer's system RC (came with the VSX 505) has only one key and I have to stand up for the other direction.
I can get the code for teaching an universal RC, 'cause a person I know has got the tape deck alone (and in this case it came with a special RC for the deck).
Does anyone know such a thing?

Regards,
Gernot

I don't know how relevant this is to your
situation, as I'm not even certain from your
message that you have, or are planning on
getting, an OFA remote, but if you do, I'd
suggest putting forward play on the play key, and
reverse play on shift-play. This would require
either learning, as you mentioned, OR knowledge
of the advanced code for reverse play on your
tape deck.

On my Producer8 this is the default set up for auto-reverse casette. PLAY is forward play, SHIFT+PLAY is reverse play. Very handy, and both work great. As with most OFA functions, no learning or programming is required.

If it works on the Home Producer 8, perhaps the
Cinema 7 has the same default configuration.
It's worth a look, anyway.

Are you listening, Gernot?
