I am a newbie and I have a question. How can you tell what is the remote control compatible with. For example, after reading this forum I tried to find RS 15-1994 in my local RS but in Canada there is no such model instead they have a RS 15-1923. I don't know if that is actually a RS 15-1994 in disguise. Can anyone help me out?

Also, how about RS 15-1924, is it Cinema 7 on the inside?

No, the 1923 is not the same remote. The 1994 is
indeed based on a Cinema 7, with minor differences, which you can read about in this
forum. Some prefer it to the Cinema 7, some like
me would not.

Another newbie that may have reacted too fast. I just got an RS 15-1995 and assumed it was a learning remote. It might do all I want but am I correct in now realizing that it does'nt learn.

Mike, don't feel bad, just take it back. Something I should have learned by now :-)

I bought the 1994 and the manual is worst I have ever seen. I was able to pogram my TV, VCR, DVD Player (Toshiba 3109 - I had to use the search feature). But I could not find the code for my Sony Receiver STR-DE425 . I have not programmed the Sony Tape Deck yet. Does anyone know how to get the codes for these.?

It is indeed a bad manual, fortunately just about any information, and most of the codes, that you find here and at http://www.allforone.com/ for the Cinema 6 and 7 (URC 6800, 7200, and 7800) will apply to the 1994 as well.

In addition to that, you may want to look at [Link: ampersand.hypermart.net]

I've found that using the one for all manual as well as the manual for the radio shack model helps a lot. www.starbase314.com has a lot of info for the one for all that applies to the radio shack model as well.

My local RadioShack says they won't be getting the 1994 until mid March, but it will be sold in Canada.
