I have setup my cinema 7 remote to control the volume with my recv. How do I control the volume of my t.v. when just watching the t.v. without the recv.

I'd suggest using the 994 code to move the volume
up and volume down functions of the TV to two
unused but convenient buttons, possibly two of
the learning keys. Would that suffice?

I have used the Magic 994 to reassign the advanced code of my TVs volume control back to the volume up/down buttons of the TV device, after you set the volume lock. If you do this, you will have the volume control of all devices execpt the TV control the receiver's volume knob and the TV device will control the volume of the TV.

That works too, with the minor disadvantage of
being unable to adjust the reciever volume when
watching TV, but this is extremely minor.
