Hello,
I have an Audio Source SS Three Prologic surround sound processor. Does anyone know of any code that will work with this device? I don't have the original Audio Source remote and although OFA claims that the Cinema 7 is compatible with Audio Source they don't have any Audio Source codes which the Cinema 7 will accept. OFA told me to buy one of the Producer 8 remotes and that they would accept Audio Source codes, however I feel reluctant to buy another remote. The only function I really need is to power the processor on and off. I asked OFA about the possibility of another device code possibly having an IR sequence that could funtion to turn the Processor on/off but they didn't answer. Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Kenneth Ragan

Try the code search method described in the cinema7 manual.
Try EVERY receiver code listed, including all those for other brands. Sometimes a model is actually made by a different company and will work with the real manufacturer's codes. I have an Optimus (radio shack) receiver that works with Pioneer codes and NOT any optimus codes.
Good luck.

It's too bad you don't have the original remote. If OFA claims a producer8 will run your device, then I suggest getting one. If it works, use IT to teach the codes you want to the Cinema7, then take the Producer8 back.

Mr. Ragan,
I faced a similar situation. I have an Audiovox CE-505 mini shelf system/surround sound decoder which is very obscure, and not at all supported by the Cinema 7. I was, however, able to convince the remote, WITHOUT using the learning feature, to control any function of the device. Here is how:
I turned the device on, and then used the code search method to find a device code which could get the device to do SOMETHING. Anything. I found a few, one of which was CD code 0420.
Note that this is NOT the same as a proper device code, as most of the buttons didn't do anything, and those that did all performed the wrong function. For instance, the power button would adjust speaker balance to the left!
Having found a DEVICE code that would at least get the system to respond in some way, I then tried all possible advanced codes (SETUP 0 0 0, SETUP 0 0 1...all the way through to SETUP 2 5 5) and found codes for all oriinal remote and console functions, and one or two that aren't on either. (For instance, one of them turns ALL the speakers off at once, yet is different from the mute function.)
It is time consuming to use this method, because you have to try ALL device codes for ALL types of device (TV, VCR, cable box, etc.), and for each you have to try all or most of the buttons.
It all just depends how commited you are. So, how committed are you?

Nice advice, Ing!
You're not just ingenious, you are clever too.
