I have the Radio Shack 15-1994 and I need it to learn the function on my amp that switches input to TV and Vcr audio inputs. When I learn those fucntions the remote gives back one long blink instead of two short.

I thought it might be out of memory so I cleared out everything but still get the problem. I know there is memory because I was able to do more programming after trying to learn.

My amp is a Sony STR-DE-525.

Im thinking that the audio input signal from the sony amp remote is actually a macro or something so it can't be learned? Anyone come accross this? Any solutions?

A clarification that may not help with your problem, but will at least prevent some erroneous assumptions.

The 15-1994 has two independent memory sections. One is used only for learned signals. The other is used for advanced codes, macros, key moves, etc. The fact that you are able to program stuff in the advanced code etc area doesn't tell you anything about whether the memory for learned signals is full.

Sony remotes tend to send about half a dozen signals when you only really need one, so you might have better luck programming your input selects using advanced codes rather than trying to learn them.

Here are your codes:

I am also using a Sony 525 receiver with the 15-1994. You shouldn't need to learn any commands except the button that changes DSP mode from Cinema to Music.

Using device code 0158 code most of the input selects will be already programmed on the numeric buttons. I think I had to use advanced codes to setup the 5.1 DVD input and a video input.

I'm also using device code 0159 to use the sound field "scroll" button. If you can't figure out what you need from the link Rob posted - email me and I can help you.
