I have a Pioneer DVD player DV-333 and my new RadioShack 6-in-1 Smart A/V won't take the codes. I can't seem to force it in either. I have finally found a universal remote that will accept my Yamaha surround sound receiver and I'm finally one component away from having everything on one remote. Any suggestions? Thanks.

What device key were you trying to assign your DVD to? Note that DVDs use similar command sets to VCRs, so the device key you choose to represent your DVD must first be configured as a VCR.

You're right (of course). I reassigned a vcr code for the cd and was able to run the DVD off of that. Thanks
