I just picked up one of these great remotes (actually it's a Rat Shack 15-1994 model). I've been to www.starbase314.com, which is a great source for advanced codes for this (and the Cinema7) remote.

However, I've not been able to determine some of the advanced codes for my Yamaha RX-V995 receiver. Specifically, the one that I really need, is the code to switch the receiver to TV/DBS. I don't see it listed anywhere on starbase314's Yamaha receivers page. Various buttons on the numeric keypad switch the receiver to other modes, like dvd, tuner, tape, vcr, etc. But I can't find the button or a code for TV/DBS, which is the one I use the most.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kieran.

Kieran,

Are you using device 0176? If so, try the advanced code 100 for TV/DBS input selection. I have a RX-V2095, and found the 0176 device keys to be very poorly laid out on my Cinema 7. The advanced code list that OFA sent me (as well as appearing at starbase314) also do not jive.

If you need any other codes, let me know.

DSS(DBS) and DVD devices are relatively late comers to the consumer electronics world. I've noticed that they are the devices least likely to be supported within a device setup code. I suspect it's always going to be that way with new devices, as it could take literally years for a company like oneforall to update every device driver.

The nice things about the Cinema6 and Cinema7 and presumably the RS equals is the learning ability. Simply teach the missing function to from your original remote. Works for me!

Thanks a million guys... code 100 for the yamaha 0176 device worked for switching to TV/dbs. Zhe, thanks for that list. I'm going to try out a few of those, (especially the surround mode 229/233).

Howdy all,
I'm looking for the codes for the following:

discrete-power-on
discrete-power-off

These are for the 0176 device control group. I did
not see these codes at www.starbase314.com so I
thought that someone in this forum might be able
to shed some light on the issue.

I've got a Yamaha HTR-5150 (same as a 595a) and,
thanks to all of these useful posts, I am now in
the process of tweaking my setup.

Thanks for your help.

Great info above. It really helped me. Anyone know:

1. Code for DSP mode on/off?
2. Codes to scroll up/down through the inputs?

Thanks!
