Is this the Cinema 7+ with Learning? Or is this something different? Looks identical to the Cinema 7+ that I picked up at Best Buy (or was that Wal-Mart) last summer.

Same creature. Shop Ebay for very good prices on Cinema 7+'s that are store returns. You can often find them for <$14. I've bought a few and they all worked for me.
