Anyone know the advance codes for the on screen menu for a JVC rc-888v?

Mike,

The short answer is that you must learn the following keys (they aren't in the command set for device 0074):

Up, Down, Left, Right, Select, Menu, Exit

If you have one of the remotes that has been hacked with the JP1 box
[ [Link: hifi-remote.com] ]
then you can create a new device code and have access to the above mentioned functions without the use of learning.

BTW, I have no idea why JVC would use two different command sets on the same remote, but from what I gather, other manufacturers have also done this.

Hope this answers your question!

Regards,

Mark Hand

Mike,

I had no difficulty learning the arrow keys and menu with either the Cinema 7 or 15-1994. Have you been able to learn other keys? Is, perhaps your memory available for learned keystrokes full? What are the indications you get when trying to learn these keys (no response, steady LED instead of two flashes, etc.)?
