I follow the instructions in book and on Rob's website but try as I might the 7800 wont learn. Is there a trick to make it learn?

Fresh Batteries. Sometimes it will work fine except learning on low batteries.

Batteries are brand new. Everything else works on the C7+. I hit setup..blinks 2 times. I hit 975, it blinks 2 times. I hit rcvr, then hold down the L1 Key and it blinks like mad. I hold the button (system setup) for my denon 3300 and after a few seconds the mad blinking on the C7+ blinks only once. The instructions said it has to blink twice and if not do it again. I have done it 10 times and only get one blink. I then hit the setup on C7 again and get the two blinks. But when I hit the L1 key...no activity, ie...no light blinks and it wont work.

Anybody got any ideas? Upsets me as this is why I bought this in the first place.

TIA

The instructions aren't right. You are doing the right things, but the light won't blink twice after learning the code the way the manual says. In my experience, you need to hold the original remote's button down until the C7 flickering light goes out. Then you press the next C7 button to learn onto. The light will begin flickering again (unless memory is full), and you press and hold the next original remote button. After the last button has been learned, you press the Setup button and hold it until the light blinks twice.

Can you learn from any other remotes than your Denon? Some are just hard to learn. Also if you have allready sucessfully learned 20 or more keys you might be out of memory.

Lastly really do try a new set of batteries. I had the same problem with a set of brand name alkalines fresh from the package. A different set and voila - learning!

You could also try a factory reset before doing your learning. Setup-9-8-1

Thanxs guys. The only two things left to try are the new batteries (even though I just put brand new batteries in it) and the reset which sucks because I will then have to redo the whole damn remote for my rig. Sigh.... Will let ya know the outcome. Prolly wont get to this until the weekend.

Thanxs again.
