I have a One-for-all 6 (European version) and cannot get the Key Magic function to work. I am trying to assign some addtl. DVD functions of a Toshiba DVD player (like Setup and Display) that are not automatically assigned to any keys when enterring the Toshiba code listed in the manual. This worked fine after I had bought the remote, but now the remote seems to refuse to accept any Key Magic functions. I have already tried a number of things:

- Reset using 9-8-0
- Reset using 9-8-1
- Normalizing keys using 9-9-2
- Removing functions from individual keys using 9-7-6
- Removing potential Macros using 9-9-5
- Removing batteries for a while

It seems like the memory is messed up. Nothing has worked. Is there any way to do a "hard" reset to clear the memory completely.

They should call this remote Once-and-for-all instead of One-for-all since you can never reverse back to what it was before.

I would appreciate any help.

I contacted OneForAll and they described a fix for my Key Magic problem that actually worked by turning KeyMagic off and then on again by enterring some codes.

Hope it helps

I went to their German website (since I had bought the remote in Germany) and used their contact form. They got back to me within a few hours through e-mail.

Mike, do you have any other notes on the codes? The operations you described just use key magic to map the 1 function to the 3 key, and then remap the 3 function to the 3 key. This may have been a diagnostic sequence they put you through to test the key magic function. Were there other commands that they had you try?

No, those were the only commands I entered and they actually made Key Magic work again on my remote.
