I have purchased 2 or 3 All-in-one Remote Controls, the last one being the Radio Shack 15-1994. I have not found a Remote which will control my Cable Converter Box. I have Digital Cable and the Cable Box is made by Motorola. I have not found any codes for this particular product. I have tried using the learning process, however this hasn't worked very well. Does anyone know of a Remote Control that will have the codes for this Cable Box? If not, do you have any suggestions on what to do? I'm not interested in buying one of the $400.00 remotes because they are too bulky and hard to handle.

did you check www.gi.com - motorolla bought General instruments:
the remote which is supposed to work with DCT 2000 and other GI digital boxes is XRC 200, it is on that page. Digital cable boxes require 3 digit channel command and a lot of remotes only give 2 digits, so the channel doesn't change. I was pleasantly surprised that Panasonic ShowStopper - hard disk recorder is well suited for control of my digital cable box, its remote is OEM version of One-for-All remotes (I think).
I don't know if the remote can control cable box, since ShowStopper itself controls cable box to switch channels. Anyway the code for the box on XRC 200 is either 002 or 017 try it. If your remote accepts 4 digit codes add one zero 0002. Email me if you need further answers, i might not check this thread again.
