My RCA 5220 DVD player didn't come with a remote so I bought a new A/V Producer 8 (URC-8080B00). I've found that code 522 is supposed to work for my DVD player but when I try to program the AUX1 button for this code the LCD readout says NOT FOUND. Does anyone know of other codes to try, or whether this remote can be upgraded to take this code?

0522 is a "DVD" code, to use it on the AUX button you would first need to use MODEMAP to change the AUX button to a VCR button, and then when you program the code you will need to change the VCR button from "VCR" to "DVD". Details in the manuals on my site... Rob. http://www.hifi-remote.com

Thanks for the help, but that didn't work either. I found an insert in the manual for programming DVDs that had a toll-free tech support number for this model (888-208-4410). The tech had me try basically what you suggested, then realized that this remote should accept this code as a DVD device using the AUX1 key. When it said NOT FOUND she tried it herself on the same model remote and found that code 0522 needs to be added. They'll upgrade it for free- I only need to pay for shipping it to them. They seem like a great company to deal with.

I didn't notice that you have the old URC-8080 version of the Producer 8, this remote lacks most DVD codes due to it's age, I thought you have the more recent URC-8800
