Our Bell ExpressVu universal remote doesn't work at all with out Hitachi 27CX31B TV.
I've tried the power scan and it didn't find anything.

SO: yesterday I tested out a Cinema 5 just to see if the Ciname line could control this TV.
None of the codes worked so I did a scan and found that code# 0016 controls this TV.

I'm thinking of getting a Cinema 6 so that I can use it to control the ExpressVu 4700 receiver AND control the volume of the TV while I'm still in SAT mode (People on another forum say this is possible and the OneForAll manual even explains how to do this).

The reason I'm thinking this TV doesn't work right with most universal remotes prpbably has something to do with this line in the Cinema 7 .PDF:
O"e For All is designed for compatibility in North America excluding Mexico"
On the back of our TV it says "Assembled in Mexico" and this TV is actually a replacement we got after our first 2 Hitachi 27" TVs couldn't be fixed.
Of course chances are they're ALL assembled in Mexico.

There's no mention of this particular model on Hitachi's website so maybe it's not somehting that would normally be sold in Canada.

As far as I've seen, all Hitachi TVs since the late 80's have used the same code set, regardless of where they were built or what market they were designed for.

I guess we just have one of those strange in-between models. The Hitachi website doesn't even mention this model anywhere. It uses the same code as Zenith but the Hitachi codes don't work at all.
I even tried using the Zenith codes for the 4700 remote to see if that would work but onviously it didn't because doing a "power scan" didn't even work.

Oh well, I ordered a Cinema 6 yesterday.
If it works well we'll be able to use the 4700 remote on the 2700 receiver in the den because it can control the volume on our GE TV just fine.
It's rediculous to have one volume for the 2700 and one volume for the TV.
Of course I'll have to remove the antena from the 4700 because the channels would change when someone watches TV in the den :)
