Ok Guys, I am just about to return it. I called support and found out that two new Onkyo codes 0612 and 0627 are not programmed into my remote (hence no double blink)so therefore I cannot even use the learn function. The one in the book 0503 is for an older DVD unit. Should I return it? I really would appreciate your help!

If the device codes you need are not in the remote, that is exactly the time to use the learning function. More info on my site. Rob. http://www.hifi-remote.com

Thanks again Robman, "Twas the girl at Radio Shack support that ate the dingo" I didn't sound right to me either. I am all set now and love my remote!
