From reading previous threads I think I found the answer to my macro question but please let me know if I am wrong. Also looking for advanced codes for discreet power on for a Pioneer Elite Pro-100 and a Toshiba DVD #SD3205.

Macros on 8800 True or False?
L keys can NOT be used in macros = True?
L keys CAN be programmed as macros = True?
Macros can't include other macros (1+2) = True?

What a waste if the L keys can be used in a macro.
I read somewhere that someone got it work by short cutting the learning process but it didn't work for me.

Whats the deal with OFA? They have a half way decent product and zero support. Geez, most companies these days have crummy products and half decent support. It would be easy to turn this company around if they cared. Oh well, what should I have bought?

The dedicated learning buttons on the Producer 8 remotes can ONLY be used for learning, NOT advanced codes, NOT macros.

PLUS, these buttons CANNOT be included in macros.

Good design? No. The way it is? Yes.

That's one of the reasons that most of us prefer the cheaper Cinema 7 and 15-1994 remotes.

Thanks Rob & if you come across the codes, ping me.
I ended up doing the advanced code thing to several buttons to get what I wanted. Maybe I am missing something but I consider the home theater button useless. My wife likes to just turn on the TV & SAT & of course I like to do the techie thing. FYI for anyone that cares I ended up with:
(Pioneer TV & Receiver,Toshiba DVD, RCA Sat)

Macro 1
Turns on Tuner, sets TV to Video 1, sets Tuner to monitor mode, turns on Sat & brings up full menu, sets remote to Sat mode

Tuner + Swap (taught adv code 247 discreet pwr on)
TV = MV Pip (taught adv code 314 TV video 1)
Tuner + MV Pip (" 308, puts tuner in TV/SAT (monitor))
Sat + Swap (228 discreet Sat pwr on)+Menu+Menu
Sat (sets remote at Sat)

Macro 2
Turns on Tuner, sets TV to Video 1, sets tuner to DVD mode, turns on DVD & sets remote to DVD mode.

Tuner + Swap (247 Tuner Pwr On)
TV + MV Pip (314 Tv to Video One)
Tuner + Enter (704 Tuner to DVD mode)
DVD + MV Pip (375 DVD PWR)
DVD (Sets remote to DVD)

Works fine, couldn't have done it without your sites advanced codes. The above is my thing, wife can still tunr on TV and SAT to watch Vanna White without the surround sound.

Thanks again!
