The remote is the RS 15-1994.

I'm trying to figure out the most straightforward way (if there is one) to assign an advanced code from one device to a key on another device.

The advanced code is not by default assigned to any key, so I can't use key copy.

The one I'm working on now is getting the discrete "on" for my Denon receiver onto buttons of other devices for purposes of macro programming, but the question is general.

Thanks...

I figgered it out, once I used my noodle. Kinda seems obvious in retrospect, oh well.

Just do a key copy:

1) press "from" device
2) enter advanced code (P + code)
3) press "to" device
4) press assigned button

Works like a charm!

i don't think that is a key copy. that is the method to assign an advanced code to a button.

Maybe. This is like a hybrid of the two. The standard method of assigning an advanced code, as described in the on-line manual at hifi-remote.com, is for the current device (9-9-4, setup, advance code, assigned button) only, as opposed to assigning an advanced code from one device onto a button for another device. The key sequence here is more like a copy.

In any case, it works, and I'm in business.
