Hi Folks,

I just thought that I would share this with you. I found a really great price on a URC-8800. This was
the best deal that I could find. It was right at $61 plus $6 S&H. As far as I can tell these are brand
new, not referbs or display models. I will call
on Tuesday, when the place opens again, to check.
Don't tell me if you found it cheeper !!!

That's not a bad price when compared to the full retail price, but this is still a way overpriced remote, even at $66.

You're still better off with the Cinema 7 or 15-1994, both of which are under $30.

If you really want the URC-8800, check eBay, you can often get them for cheap there.

Whelp, you know where I am headed. Three components that either work totally wrong or not at all.
What I believe that the 8800 brings to the table
is the ability to handle my Technics SL-MC7. I
believe that in another thread you had determined
that the codes needed for it were not in the Cinema 7
at all. Whereas, it is looking good for the URC-8800
to support the MC7. The other two problem components
are well documented and should be able to be added
to the 8800 at the factory. Problem solved!

It is a real shame that they have not expanded and
updated the device code library in the Cinema 7 as
well as provide some more memory. I really like it
a lot. Its small, works well and is very programmable.
If I had any way, I would be keeping it.

I am currently in the running to get the 8800 off of UBID.COM for under $60, check that out. There are still 7 left with less than 2 hours to go.

Hi Chris,

I got your message too late to get in on your bid deal.
Then I found that the deal I had was backordered. So,
what I did was to find that I could get the 9800 for
only ten bucks more and it was in stock. As it turns
out that may work even better as I have my main
system fed to a second system in a rec room. With
the 9800 I should be able to control the main receiver
of that setup as well.

Hi Terry,

It turned out that the other place who said that
they had a URC-9800 in stock were fibbing. That
order has also been backordered. The price
was good at $66 for the 9800. If you find any
in stock anywhere at a reasonable price, how
about firing off an E-Mail to me. I will do the
same if I find availability.
