I need to know how to program my Radio Shack remote
15-1994 for my reciever. It's a RCA and none of the codes i have found have worked. I tried to turn a aux button to a Cd player button first then try a code but it did'nt work. Any different codes or suggestions
would be much apreciated.

receiver code 0054 would be my guess. If you have converted the AUX1 button tobe a CD button, you need to convert it back, like this...

[SETUP **] 992 AUX1 AUX1 **

Then program the device code like this....

AUX1 [SETUP **] 0054 **

Rob, I tried your advice as listed above to no avail. I don't know if it makes any difference, but I am working with the Aux2 button. I have had two phone conversations with the Radio Shack help line and have tried ten to fifteen different codes. Is my only hope to have the 1994 "learn" the whole receiver remote?

Receiver Info: RCA Model RT2500.

Thank you for your help.

You are probably getting bitten by the RCA bug then. There is a bug in the way that UEIC has programmed all RCA codes into Radio Shack and One For All remotes, it doesn't seem to matter with TV's and such, but it causes only half the buttons to work for DIrecTV for example, I have seen other people with RCA receivers report that they have the same problem as you. Whenever I examine RCA signals for their receivers they are always in the format used by code 0054, so if the code doesn't work then it's the bug that's probably causing it.

Just to verify, here's a trick you can try. Program device code 0054 to either of the AUX buttons (it doesn't make a difference), then try pressing the POWER button but have your hand placed over the IR window of the rmeote when you start pressing the button, then after a second or so, remove your hand (while still pressing the button) and point the remote at your receiver, does the receiver respond?

Rob, I cleared the AUX2 button with the 992 code and now when I use the 0054 code I get one long blink not [**] to confirm the code was expcted. Shall I reset the whole remote and work with AUX1 for my reciver and AUX2 as my DVD. Before I forget this is one awsome web site and the time you must spend one it showes.

Thank you Dean

Damn, I shoulda checked my files, the 0054 code is one of the ones that are missing from the 15-1994, that's why you;re getting the long blink.

The 0054 code is in the Cinema 7.

Last post... Is there any remedy for this or will the 1994 just not control this RCA unit?

Thank you for all your help.
