On my latest Nevo project, I had to use at least 3 different device code sets in order to get fully functioning control for the A/V Receiver- (one file for the surround modes, another one for the Zone 2 controls, etc.).

Is there a way in Nevo Studio to consolidate all the codes I pulled from the various sets into one file so I can save it in my personal device library and avoid having to use three separate sets (and try to remember which sets worked for which functions) every time I program a Denon receiver like this one? I can’t seem to figure this one out, but I basically want to dump all codes used on a particular page to one device file.

Two ways I can think of off the top of my head would be once you have set all the commands save it as a configuration or once you have it downloaded to a q-50 create a new device use the learn function to set up a new device and learn each key face to face with another q-50
One thing I have learned in this industry. It is easier to pull a wire than it is to push one.

Sorry rbhfan. Learning is not your friend.... I strongly recommend against this option. Particularly if you want to use a NC-50 at any stage.

What device numbers are you using?
Have you looked in the online database?
What model Denon are you using?

Lets see if there is a better solution, maybe we can get Nevo to update the database so that it is fixed for all users.

Thanks guys- I'm Programing for a Denon AVR-3808 and had to use a real mismash of codes to get all the functions working. I'm using code R3160 for most of the hard key functions, R2857 for most of the surround modes, R2764 from nevo.com for the input modes. After all that I still had to learn a few functions. I also tried sets 2856, 2862 and 2865, and none of them would let me control everything.

What is the issue with NevoConnect and learned codes? I haven't used a nevo connect yet, but may be putting one in soon.

I would be interested in hearing of the issue as well. I haven't done a ton of learning because their database is pretty decently sufficient but always nice to know known issues before you get into it.

Hi,

There is no real issue but more potential for things to have an issue.

When you send a database code only a very samll amount of data is sent but when you send a hex or learnt ir code the full string is sent. This is a lot of extra data. That means the system needs to work harded and if you are on the fring of reception there is more potential for the code not to get through.

The beauty about the z-wave system is the ability to confirm that the code was sent and if it did not get through the remote resends the code.
I had a job where sometime the TV macro would take 2-3 times longer than normal. I discovered a dodgy learnt code (the remote was resending the code until it was recieved correctly) in the programming. After changing to a database code the problem went away.

I will pass on your issues with the Denon codes to Nevo.
