My distributer just called me to let me know my C3's are in. Will play around with it and provide some feedback tomorrow evening.. Looking forward to checking out the C3.

That's good news. I'll have to give my distributor a call. It looks like it could be a winner in its price range.

Could be Mike, I don't have to tell you it's going to be a challenge though. URC has a lot of product in this price range and has pretty good marketability. I don't think the C2 is going to give Harmony a run at all even though they should. But the C3 looks like a really nice remote. They just told me it is coming today - so we will see how it goes. I will share my thoughts as soon as I play around with it.

Regards,
Vincent

Picked a C3 yesterday as my distributor had them in for days, but didn't call me. :-(

Nice looking remote, maybe too many hard buttons for some. Uses the same battery as the URC MX-810/880/980 which is a plus. Don't particularly like the Harmony-like setup, but it looks like you can modify the setup almost any way you want. Haven't had a chance to test the RF yet or the ability to directly control my DirecTv box via RF.

I think it is well-positioned because its competitors in the URC lineup are the MX-810, which lists for $100 more than the C3 and the MX-880, which lists for $200 more, and neither has a charging station. The Harmony 900 lists for $100 more as well and they're not as well made as UEI remotes typically are.

Anyone had a chance to use the EZ-PC software yet??

We have a couple of the C3's and Base units on order and havent had one in my hands yet.

The software Im told will allow some customization of the system...but how much more???

Any thoughts on the remotes yet

I dont like you cant address the base units or route IR

Yes, very Harmony-ish. Everything done via internet, need to set up an account on their website. It doesn't assign all the commands available for a particular device (which may be a good thing in some cases), but you can go back and add or reassign buttons as you want. Looks like you can assign a macro to any button as well, but I haven't got that far yet. Punch through is very minimal, appears to be Volume only and only to all devices.

Well made, quality look and feel. Button action is nice. The Guide, Menu, Info and Exit buttons are a bit small for my taste, but well positioned. I do like the colored buttons and the fact that there's a Record button.

Me either.

Thanks Mike, We have a job where we miht use one but need to control Zone 2 but only to select the input and maybe control the sources. No need for volume control as its all VC's in the house...Take over job and need to simplify the operation and clean up the mess.

Im not.....well not today, but when the 2 C3's show up I will be a Nevo Newbie.

We just needed a lower priced remote for some of our budget minded clients.

I am taking the online class for these little fellas tomorrow. Will see what they can do, and cant.

Anything good come from the online training? I have 2 of the C3's from my distributor and am looking forward to getting them programmed. I have worked with Prontos, Harmony's and a few Q50's so I am not too concerned about the learning curve.

I too think that the non-addressable base is a mistake. Based on the reviews of the shortcomings of the Acoustic Research version of the C3, I am a little concerned. Sounds like the hardware is pretty good but the web-based software is not so hot. I can't figure out if the Nevo version uses a different website with additional customization or if its just the AR site that has been skinned for Nevo.

I wish it addressed also, but at this price point I hate to say it and I don't mean to be rude, but what the hell do you expect for this price tag? Obviously there will be shortcomings. I think this is a great system for the family who has a couple of components maybe in a cabinet under the TV that wants a nice looking controller without the need for pointing. For the money the RF base unit is very good. I'm not going to walk into every estimate trying to get this remote to work - but there will be a certain demographic this remote/base station applies to.

One thing I have learned in this industry. It is easier to pull a wire than it is to push one.

No, it works with it's own worthless rf base that doesnt support I/R routing and only has one RF code.  so you cannot have more than 1 rf base in the same house.
