Hey guys, Happy New Year! For Christmas this year I got myself a new S70 and am just getting started setting it up. I had a Harmony 890 previously and a bunch of z-wave devices around the house, but wanted to take it up a notch. :)

I've got the z-wave devices all re-configured now to the S70, it recognized them and added them with no trouble at all, but for the life of me cannot figure out how to set it up to control them. :/ I've been all through NevoStudio Pro and don't see them anywhere, or anyway to add them. I've got my amp and tuner all working just how I want, but nothing on the z-wave lighting. Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Thanks!
Charlie

the first thing we need to know is if you are using the beta version of nevo studio pro (2.0)

thats currently the only way to get it to work.

Well then, that would explain it. I am using NevoStudio Pro v1.1.0.854. I have nothing against using the beta (in real life I'm a software developer), where would I get a copy or do I have to be part of a testing program?

Thanks!

No thermostats, yet... :) Just a bunch of dimmer switches and the Nevo. Just got the NevoLink working through my Airport Express this morning and later today I'm adding a three way dimmer, wish me luck!

OK, I do have a question on programming the z-wave lights. :) I'd like to have the hard buttons on the Nevo increase and decrease a set of lights, i.e. each time I push the double up arrow, increase several lights by 10, and the reverse on the double down arrow. I could do this with a massive set of IF statements, but was hoping there was a way to just tell it get this z-wave devices current setting, subtract 10 and then set it. Any ideas?

So far it's been working great, I've got it tied into my Apple Airport Express and then ran the IR transponders up to the front of each device (I actually liked the ones that came with the Harmony better, but they weren't compatible). Been having a blast all day programming it and re-configuring everything, when I really should have been working... :)

It's been great, really the z-wave stuff was what pushed me to use the beta. I'm probably not a great source though since I tend to put up with alot as long as in the end it works, and I only used the prior version for a few hours before upgrading. The only outstanding issue I have right now is getting it to download the configuration wirelessly, it only works via USB. Not sure if that's a version 2 thing or just a general Nevo issue, my main concern is that I'll end up breaking the USB hatch cover off because I'm constantly updating the job and downloading it. :)

Motech, I wouldn't use the NevoLink. The problem is that when you send an IR command via Wifi and the Wifi card has gone to sleep - then it needs to wake up then send the command which can cause a delay and bad customer experiences.

I stopped selling the NevoLink a long long time ago even when the old NevoSL was still current.

It still has its applications but I'd rather use the NevoConnect with its addressable IR outputs, signal level, sensing capabilites. But you know all of that.

i agree on the capabilities of the nevo connect,
but it would be great to have a device similar to the connect, that
was networkable as well...

the pronto's work over wifi.
do they have the same issues?
