Last night when I was trying to figure out the origin of a weird noise (which turned out to be the hard drive in my TiVo), I put my Q50 up to my ear. I was alarmed to discover the it makes a very audible hissing-type noise. If you hold it like a phone, with the screen at your ear, it almost sounds like cell phone static.
Is this normal??

Generally standard, yes. Some equipment does it more than others.
