hi

i have an LG monitor - M4210C
the codes are not in the database,
i have a harmony remote and learned the commands i need from that (since harmonys database seams to be a lot more complete)

the problem is that version of the codes does not have discrete commands for inputs and power on / off (only toggle)

i called LG and they pointed me to a page in their manual that has the IR Codes,
i tried to put them in nevo software, and they wouldnt work, called nevo and they told me i need to convert them to pronto format . .

i have no clue how to do that, and ive researched it a little,
im thinking you have to be pretty good with IR Codes to understand it . .

can anyone help me?

Have you tried looking for a Pronto config file for that monitor? You could always import that into NSP. Also, you might try a couple other LG monitor code sets to look for these discrete codes, as manufacturers often use the same codes for these basic commands. Try especially different sizes of the same TV, then similar models of the same generation.

Another way is to use the freeware program Tonto ([Link: giantlaser.com]) to create a CCF file. Use the hex codes from the manual to create the IR codes in Tonto. Then import the CCF file into the Nevo software. A bit convoluted, but that should work.

ive tried other devices for LG and gotten most of the commands i need . .
the only command i can not find it the HDMI/DVI discrete input command,
which is key . .

any other LG devices i can try?
mostdont seem to have that option as input . .

i wish i could just easily convert these codes . .

I'm sure there is a way to easily convert them, but I just don't know the exact format they need to be in. Do you have an example of one that you know works?

But here's another thought: I saw this post from a another thread about an LG, and it looks like the codes are consistent over their units. Maybe you could PM Daniel and ask it he has those clean HEX codes in a file? He's at least worked with the HEX codes recently so maybe he could at least help you with the one you're missing. Good luck.

It's hard to tell if URC's discrete codes (on the MX-850)
are complete or not without actually testing, since it
lacks listings for HDMI 3 and HDMI 4 but has a lot of
other inputs that are no longer used and might have been
renamed.

But at any rate, if anyone still needs it I just finished
the complete 2008 LG codeset in an MXD, all using clean
generated Pronto hex codes.
