I awhile back, we had a member who attempted to use Parallels to download a file to the Q50 and it would not work. It seemed the software worked fine, just couldn't download.

With the more recent offering from Fusion and Parallels, I'm wondering if anyone has had any success downloading a file yet?

If not, I was thinking of being the guinea pig, but wonder if the possibility exists that a filed download from either of the mentioned apps could brick the Q50?

I could go back to bootcamp and install my current file, but just worry of having a paper weight.

i have fusion on my MacBook Pro, and i cant get the Nevo to connect to the computer at all.

However i have had no trouble at all connecting the Philips prontos in the same way.

i doubt you would brick the nevo by using fusion/parallels or by using bootcamp, a work mate of mine hasnt had any trouble using boot camp with the nevos.

Hi, I think it was me you're referring to. It works fine under bootcamp, there is absolutely no chance of damaging the remote under bootcamp.

I have both VMWare Fusion and Parallels, and can't get the remote to connect to activesync under either of them. It even crashed my macbook once! Just connecting it bluescreened the mac (ok, I know its not a blue screen, but I don't have another term for it!). I havent tried it in ages though. Curiously enough the SL works fine.
Well, my name's Dewey Oxburger. My friends call me Ox. I dont know if you've noticed, but I got a slight weight problem.

while it doesnt work with fusion, fusion can read the boot camp partition which will allow you to do your programming while in Mac OS, then just open to boot camp when you actually need to download the configuration.
this is how i have just set up my new MacBook pro and it works perfectly, you can also install programs while in say boot camp and it will work properly when using windows under fusion.

i have the same problem - and i'm a nevo distributor. nevo couldn't identify the problem however. i installed bootcamp and it works fine. i believe it has something to do with how activesync sees the remote and how fusion/parallels uses the USB ports. i use my studiopro in parallels to program then save the file to my external drive - i use bootcamp to tweak my program and to load the remote and program the nevoconnects.

Drew, when you set up your virtual machine, did you have it read your boot camp partition or did u reinstall Windows under Fusion/Parallels?

if its reading the partition then you can just save the program your working on in Fusion/Parallels and it will be available under Boot Camp.

hey guys
i have both parallels and bootcamp installed. I have two winxp installs on my mac
I use my winxp in parallels for programming the nevoQ50, Colorado vNet programming, Russound programming. I use my bootcamp install to actually load my file that i programmed in studiopro to the remote. For some reason ActiveSync doesn't recongize the remote when in the parallels environment.
I save all my nevo files on my laptop as well as on an external drive.

you can program in fusion,
but you must restart in boot camp to update . .

using the S70,
once you set up the remote in bootcamp ,
you can set wifi up on the remtoe and you can update it over wifi via fusion . .

I'd give the latest build of Parallels Desktop 4, build 3810 a try. It has updates which has fixed USB communication problems on many devices.

Fusion just had a major update as well. I need to reinstall Studio Pro anyhow, perhaps I will give it a shot unless someone else already has...

I just gave the newest version of Fusion with fully updated Windows XP and Nevo Studio 2.0 a shot and no love. Fusion recognizes there is a Microsoft USB device attached but will not engage with it. Active Sync just does not see it.

I was using a S70
