Hi everybody !

I've got a Nevo Q50 since this morning (great remote IMHO) and I have a little question on the remote.

The remote seems to always charging. It never stops (like a mobile for example) after an entire charge !

Every time I touch the screen when it is in charge, the indicator at the top right of the screen is still moving, even after a night !

I test the charge with the cradle or with the usb, it's the same.

Is it normal ? Or do i need to check something in the properties to avoid this ?

Thanks for your help !

The unit shuts off automaticly, but the blue light stays on. If you touch it, it reactivates. If you have a unit that actually is faulty, it would burn up the battery pretty quick and then you would know and it would be covered under warranty. I asked Nevo about battery replacement and they had only replaced two batteries on the SL after 3yrs. The cost is $30.

It is what happens ! :o)

What bothers me is when you touch it, it reactivates but the charge indicator never stops until you put the remote out of the craddle. I find it strange, don't you ?

When an electronic device with a built-in battery is fully charged, even in a cradle (an IPOD for example), you have on the screen the indication that the battery is full, no ?

No.

maybe It's the same thing with other Q50 owners.

I just want to know if someone has already seen the charge indicator full ( without moving between empty, middle, full continuously) when the Q50 is In the craddle (with the blue light)

I have a Windows Mobile Pro phone and it does the same thing so I think it's more of a Windows OS issue. I view the battery animation as just an indication that there is a charge going to the device and only look for a battery level after I remove the device from the base.

I'm not sure I understand why it's bothering you? Is it a pet peeve or are you experiencing battery problems that you're trying to troubleshoot? If it's a pet peeve... I'm with you... I wish there was a way for all electronic devices to adopt the same logic because when something behaves out of the norm like this it can be frustrating. If you're having battery concerns and you're looking to the screen for info than I think the only right answer is to call UEI techs.

The unit always charges if it is plugged into the ac adapter or if it is plugged into a USB connection. It charges from the USB connection. If it ain't broke, don;t fix it!

Thanks a lot ddarche :o)

I don't have to worry anymore. Cool !

By the way, the Q50 is a great remote. Despite its screen which is a little washed, I find the software very intuitive, and the hard buttons are great and very useful.

Coming from a Marantz RC3200, there are a huge gap between these two remotes !

And who cares of the lesser quality of the screen when your remote is fully functionnal ? You forget it after a few days, especially when you had a black and white screen before :o)
