I got a NevoSL, which I have managed to create pages for the equipment that I have, (Pioneer PDP-436XDE, Denon AVC-A11AVA, Denon DVD-A1XVA, Sky+ and Lutron lighting).

But I am having issues with two settings;

1) - I cannot connect my Nevo to my wireless router, I can connect it with no Encryption/via WEP but not via WPA-PSK, I have checked every setting. The unit Associates successfully, but always fails on the Authentication. Has anyone been able to connect via WPA-PSK ?

2) - I have Vista Home Premium with Media Centre. I have my Denon Amp connected to my Network, and I can play music via the denon remote. I cannot get Nevo Studio to see the Media Centre as the server, and I cannot get NevoStudio to see the Denon Amp as a output device.

Any help would be greatful, if there is any programmers in Central London, that can help would also be apperciated.

Thanks for your help

Hi,

I had the same issues with the media zones. Maybe you'll have to check if your devices are working with the Nevo at all. For example, I use Twonykedia as a server and it only works with one version. With all the other versions - even newer ones - the Nevo cannot play back the media..

I contacted support because I also had problems with the Nevo not connecting right to my wireless network and they told me that I should set up the network as unprotected network and hide the SSID as it takes quite a long time for the Nevo to connect to protected ones. They also advised me to use a dedicated router just for the Nevo because the network is used quite a lot. I tried it that way and it does work fine now!

I hope I could give you some help.

Regards, Alex

I think the NevoSL works only with devices that are compatible with some protocol called "UPnP".

Unfortunately, I don't think either one of your devices (the Media Centre and Denon Amp) are compatible with this format.

This is a side note but have you tried the fix referenced in this forum for the Nevo and Twonky?

upatel,
I talked to Nevo support and found out that the NevoSL will not work with WPA-PSK
at all. If it even tries to connect, it causes the association to connect and disconnect over and over.
The SL will work with WEP and either 64 or 128 bit encryption. I have found this to be enough protection, but then I am already in the Witness Protection Program. JK :)

I thought I heard that the new S70 remote will be able to handle WPA and even WPA2, and will operate on 'G' instead of 'B'.. which should boost it's range.
Anyone know for sure?

Well that's extremely disappointing as I was looking to use WPA also.

Looking through the Nevo settings themselves on the device it only mentions WEP but how come then that WPA is mentioned in the white papers Nevo SL1.2 and Networking p.36 & Nevo SL WiFi Control Setup p.1 as a valid & recommended option to setup your router?

Also on a couple of other threads in this forum people (P-Stone & Jimmy Bellagio)seem to think that it does work??

Have I missed something fundamental here or was this something that was going to be added but was never implemented?

Thanks & regards,

WPA-PSK does work. I Use my Nevo's everyday with WPA-PSK.

Router is configures for WPA/PSK Only (DrayTek Vigor 2900VG).
WPA mode is Mixed(WPA+SPA2) and Pre-Shared Key (PSK) is filled.

I also have an access point (for other floor) and also works with my Nevo's with WPA-PSK.

Nevo SL version 2.0.2.597
Firmware 2.0.1.19
Power save mode, Aways disable / best performance.
On Authentication tab (advanced wifi settings and then properties of current connection) i have:
Authentication: WPA-PSK
Enable Encryption: True
Enable network access with 802.1x: true
EAP type: TLS

I also heard S70 can handle WPA and WPA2, 802.11G and has a bigger battery capacity than SL. My dealer said S70 is available from now on, but mynevo.com doesn't mention it... I really look forward getting my hands on this one.
