Hi

Just got my lovely new Q50 remote and a bit gutted. Firstly, I charged it up, switched it on and.... nothing. Bit of backlight, but apart from that just a blank screen - shouldn't it come with a dummy programme loaded? Just a bit worried that it's doa, but is there a way to do a 'hard reset' - the reset button doesn't help?

Next thing is that it won't connect to my (XP) laptop running studio pro - is there anything obvious I'm missing?

Thanks for any help, I just want to get it going!!

I'm not home now to verify, but I believe you can do a reset through the software.

'I'm not home now to verify, but I believe you can do a reset through the software.'

Surely this won't help if he can not connect to his laptop.

Strangely enough I had a similar issue with my laptop so it would be useful if anybody can sheed so light on the matter. I just decided to stick to my SL in the end as it's loads better!!! LOL ;@)

Never heard of Dirty Harry? Dearie me...

You're right though, it won't connect to the laptop so can't use the software to reset it - any ideas on how to connect it, or reset the Q50 on its own?

Thanks

Sorry callahan, I missed the part of you not being able to connect your laptop.

I'm not sure if your aware...but if you load the cd back up, there is a huge user manual on the disk (I never noticed it as I was to interested in playing with the software asap).

While waiting for another suggestion here, you may find a way to reset the Q50 within the manual.

Move the power switch to the top-most setting. There is a middle setting, which you cannot use.

Oh no, it can't be that simple can it?

Off to check now....

By the way, left the disc at work so can't check the manual either...

Thanks

I dont think the remote charges when off (please correct me if I am wrong). Make sure it is ON before charging.

Thanks for all the help, after a bit of fiddling with the power switch and the reset button I finally got it to respond.

I just connected it to another (Vista this time) laptop and it's talking to it!

Now I just need to work out how to programme it.....

Thanks
