Hi im just about to upgrade to a nevo sl and server setup and was wondering what peoples experience with different renderers is. I was looking at the D-link DSM-520 when it becomes available in the uk but after reading some posts on here may have changed my mind. I want a solution that does video (DIVX mainly) and pictures and audio. Is the DSM-320 fully compatable with this system or is there still bugs. This is my first endevour in to UPNP so I dont really want to be put straight off by unreliability. If only the new Apple TV was UPNP and DIVX compatble they would be getting quite a few more sales I think. Thanks for any advice. Lee

Hi sorry one last simple question I hope. I see that some people are using twonkyvision server to connect there nevo sl to there renderers. I already have a apple X-Serve running but just assumed that i would need to build a windoze box to run this setup but I see from the twonkyvision site that there is a version for OSX. Is this still compatable with the nevo sl, has anyone even tried or am I going to be the only one to try this. It would be nice to get some CPU usage out of this pretty silver attic heater.

hi.
Forget about twonky on OSX...

I tried it several times, it works eratically...
And after a while CPU is about.... 99% over one core... Great!!! (on a core2duo 2,16 imac...).

Well it's only a beta version, and it doesn't seem to have any support about it...Go and see the dedicated forum, you will understand. I heard somewhere that the registred version works far better than the trial one, but I refuse to pay 50$ for a Beta...

Anyway, if anybody have a solution for running an upnp server over OSx, I 'd be glad to know...

Hi thanks for the advice, after some thinkning ive decided to get a intel mac mini and put windows on it and share the media from my x-serve. was thinking about vista but vista doesnt like osx shares so i guess itll be xp then.

As for the media rendeders i just managed to find the compatable list, so its not a massive list the roku, the medialounge and the nevo player on a windows box. Where it says medialounge i still asume this only means the 320.

My final question i have asked tecnical support about this but no responce as yet, i might be being stupid but i registered my nevo and set up a password. I did the conformation email and in that it said go on mynevo for cool extra stuff, What do i sign in to because it wont let me sign in to the dealer log-in. and i can see anything else to do on this page.

Thanks

Lee
