Ok, I give! I can create a shortcut, but when I try to apply it to the button it will not allow it. This must be simple!

The button with the two cogs and a "+" sign, that's where you build the short cut. Use the little pencil button to rename it from shortcut1 to whatever it is supposed to do.

On the button bar just above that, you will see a button with just one cog. Click on whatever button/icon you are trying to program on Nevo and then click the one-cog button. It will pull up a list of your created shortcuts (that's why you should rename them) and click on whatever shortcut(s) you want to apply to that button/icon.

Question - is there a way to take a button (which has a very long macro) and make it a "shortcut"? IF not I guess Id just have to build the macro all over and then save as a shortcut!

You are correct about recreating the entire the macro into a shortcut. There is no cut and paste for that.
