is there any way of reading the ir code in nevostudio for any given command? it can be done in prontoedit by double clicking on the code. recently i had a nevo that struggled to learn a particular device, i took a pronto, learned the codes into that then copy and pasted the hex codes from prontoedit into nevostudio! a pain in the arse but it worked perfectly. seems it may only work that way around?

Yeah mark, I think you're right. I've tried to look at the codes in Nevostudio with no success before as well. You can put them in, but you can't get them out it seems.

Like most of the IR code providers, they don't let you see any hex codes for those in the IR database.

you are correct, typed in hex codes can be reviewed by clicking 'edit ir' but not learnt codes or indeed as you said codes from nevo's website/nevostudio.

Use a global cache ir reader and then copy over to your Nevo. I found this to be fast and helpful [Link: globalcache.com]

I assume you mean if someone were to learn codes into the gloablcache system, one would have the hex to paste in. Is that what you are saying?

I can understand why they would block viewing of codes in thier Database which they provide, but if you learn the code, you should be able to view this. Without this ability, we cannot try to work out the discreet codes for a device without having another device which enables us to view the codes (adding to the costs and workload/time).

Again, get the code from Nevo and then point it at the global cache. You will now have a code in hex to look at. It's a backward way to see all of Nevo's codes whether they want you to or not.

On this subject here's a problem I have. A client had a Nevo SL and was controlling an obscure manufacturer (Crimson). Had endless trouble learning the codes so got the manufacturer to supply them. Enterred them and it worked fine. The client hated the Nevo and when after a party he discovered it in a bowl of punch is replacing it with a Pronto.

Now, how do I get the ir codes out of Nevo Studio (pro) so that i can enter them manually into Pronto edit. Learning the codes is once again proving tricky.

if the manufacturer supplied the codes they must be in Hex format correct? 

just click on the function, then click on Edit IR Function.   then click on Enter the Hex code for the IR function.  copy and paste the code

Nope. If I do this when I click on enter the hex code I get a blank box in which, presumably, I should enter teh hex code.

Can you get any working Hex Codes when learning to the Pronto?

If you can get a couple to work you may be able to generate the rest with MakeHex.

If you Post some Learnt Hex Codes (even if you can`t get any to work) there may be enough info in the Hex String to find out what protocol they are using. You can use IRTools and DecodeIR to find this out.
